What is CESS?

Swachh Bharat Cess: This tax is imposed to support the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission, focusing on sanitation and cleanliness projects throughout the country.
Krishi Kalyan Cess: A cess introduced to promote agricultural welfare and finance rural development programs.
