We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. You will collaborate with HR and finance teams to manage payroll systems, resolve discrepancies, and address employee payroll-related concerns. The ideal candidate has strong numerical skills, proficiency in payroll software, and a deep understanding of labor laws and tax regulations.

Payroll Analyst Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee salaries, deductions, and benefits.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax laws.

  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to verify employee data, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.

  • Prepare payroll reports, tax filings, and compliance documentation as required.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.

  • Conduct payroll audits to identify and correct errors, ensuring data integrity.

  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll regulations, tax codes, and best practices.

  • Assist with year-end payroll processing, including tax forms and financial reporting.

  • Support the implementation and improvement of payroll systems and processes for increased efficiency.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or other related fields.

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing.

  • Preferred CPP certification.

  • Good grasp of regulations, codes, and laws related to labor and employment.

  • Experienced in PERS/STRS retirement regulations, employee benefits plans, and retirement plans such as ICR 125, HSA, 403B/457, etc.

  • Skilled in using payroll and auditing software to review, verify, and manage payroll data, and financial data analytic tools and accounting programs.

  • Proficient in MS Office and preferred ADP SmartCompliance disbursement skills.

  • A data-driven approach to payroll solutions.
